Designed to add an extra boost to a distorted amp channel, the Juice Box is also capable of functioning as a primary distortion pedal in a signal chain. The FX51 Juice Box, introduced in 1996, was Jason Lambs first overdrive pedal. From tube-like scream to rock-a-billy twang, it's all there. Unfortunately DOD and DIGITECH have both been discontinued for good after Samsung purchased the company in 2016. The FX51's harmonics stand out, and EQ lets you achieve many different tones that you could only get with two distortions. By slightly distorting the amp and kicking the FX51 on during during solos or extra distorted songs, the FX51 adds more character and "juice" without becoming too harsh. While reviews of the FX51 were generally favorable, it was apparently discontinued by early 1998, following the announcements of the re-issue DOD 250 in December 1997 and the FX102 Mystic Blues Overdrive at Winter NAMM 1998. Featuring independent controls for low and high e.q., the FX51 was the first overdrive pedal introduced by DOD since the FX53 Classic Tube in 1990 (although the FX53 was not immediately replaced by the FX51). Here's what DOD have to say:The FX51 Juice Box was introduced at the Winter 1996 NAMM meeting. Runs on a 9v battery or DC supply (not included). Still in box and really clean condition with no noisy pots etc. Apparently an early forerunner of the Bad Monkey pedal.

Quite sought after on some online guitar forums and not turning up very ofter on eBay. Juicebox, Althan Bhatar, Surat, Healthy Food, Juices, Light Bites, 2 Photos. Great old overdrive pedal from the early '90's.
